Ms. Kaplin is a licensed psychotherapist with over ten years of experience specializing in psychodynamic psychotherapy. She received her M.S. from the Columbia University of Social Work. She has post-graduate training from the Institute for Psychoanalytic Training and Research in the Adult Psychoanalytic Program and the Contemporary Freudian Society in Child Analysis in New York City. Ms. Kaplin grew up in the Midwest and recently moved to Ann Arbor from New York. She is currently enrolled in the Psychotherapy Fellowship at the Michigan Psychoanalytic Institute where she also hopes to complete her analytic training.
Ms. Kaplin has extensive experience in treating youth and adults in her private practice; she has also provided treatment in both in-patient and outpatient settings. People have sought her help in the context of depression, anxiety, separation, trauma history, illness and relationship problems and life adjustments.
In addition, Ms. Kaplin has over ten years experience in community-based programs including developing a therapeutic program for visually impaired children and their families. She has also provided treatment to young people in the foster care system and to war veterans and their families.
In her spare time, she belongs to two book clubs. She and her dog, “Dickens” are avid walkers.
