SATA Welcome Reception

Please join us this October 20th for the SATA 2007-8 Welcome Reception!

Immediately following Michigan Psychoanalytic Society Panel Discussion "How Patients Have Changed Me and How Theories Have Changed Me"

At 2 p.m., Drs. Melvin Bornstein, Marvin Margolis, and Evangeline Spindler will share their personal experiences of growth in working with patients. They will describe their most memorable moments of revelation: when they came to appreciate the need to change, or re-think, how to work analytically, based on something they had not previously grasped about the needs of an individual patient. Dr. Michael Singer will facilitate the discussion. Our panel will reflect on how additions to psychoanalytic theory affected them, with this question as a focus for each: are there interventions which you have found useful and effective therapeutically, but for which we do not yet have a scaffolding from psychoanalytic theory?
