About the presenters: Elizabeth M. Carr is Director Emeritus and Training and Supervising Analyst at the Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis, Washington, DC. She is Associate Editor of Psychoanalytic Inquiry and a Member of the Council of the International Association of Psychoanalytic Self Psychology. A recent publication explores the links between the seminal contributions of Heinz Kohut and John Bowlby, and she has also written papers on shame, attachment, the intersubjective aspects of analytic development, and Lichtenberg’s motivational systems theory. She has a private practice in DC and Silver Spring, MD.
Joye Weisel-Barth is Senior Instructor, Supervisor, and Training Analyst at the Institute of Contemporary Psychoanalysis in Los Angeles. She is Book Review Editor of the International Journal of Psychoanalytic Self Psychology, Associate Editor of Psychoanalytic Dialogues, and a Member of the Council of the International Association of Psychoanalytic Self Psychology. She loves to write (recent publications are about complexity theory and dissociation, termination, film, and literature) and practices privately in Encino, CA.
