Practice Gap/Need: The practicing clinician often encounters a patient, or series of patients, for whom the therapist’s understanding, paradigm, and/or countertransferences seem stagnant or stalemated. By reflecting on different experiential, practical, and theoretical points of view, such as those offered by the three “master clinician/educators”, the clinician can alter her or his understanding and practice in ways which allow his or her work with patients to deepen and move forward.

Following the presentation, attendees will be able to:

1) Identify core concepts of the three psychoanalytic theoreticians discussed by the panelists.

2) Apply these concepts in clinical work with patients.

3) Discuss the importance of seeking post-graduate training, both autodidactic and with colleagues, in areas that will enhance their clinical work.
