We will examine the impact of these dynamics in the context of the organization's business decisions, structure and culture, profitability and responsiveness to the demands of the external market. We will also review the literature and case studies by psychoanalytic writers/organizational consultants with a focus on contemporary topics and organizational dilemmas.
After attending this course, participants should be able to:
1. Describe some major contemporary psychodynamic organizational writers/consultants' theoretical approaches to organizational psychodynamics.
2. Describe the psychodynamics of group functioning and defenses.
3. Assess the critical differences between psychodynamic consultation and non-psychodynamic consultative models.
