This course will examine the multi-dimensional aspects of ethics for the mental health professional. Mandates of the codes of ethics, risk management, legal obligations, as well as the clinical issues which inevitably arise will be discussed.
1) Achieving a basic understanding of applicable codes of ethics.
2) Enhancing sensitivity to potential ethical dilemmas.
3) Achieving an understanding of the interplay between transference/countertransference and ethical decision making.
May be used toward completion of the Child Development and Clinical Issues Program.
