Visiting Professor
The Michigan Psychoanalytic Institute brings a Visiting Professor of Psychoanalysis to Michigan in March or April of each year for a week-long series of talks and case conferences with the students and faculty at the local universities. It is the only program of its kind in the American Psychoanalytic Association. We have proudly sponsored visits by many luminaries of contemporary psychoanalysis, including Otto Kernberg, Jacob Arlow, Charles Brenner, Mark Solms, Peter Fonagy, Owen Renick and Leo Rangell, amongst many others. The program serves to strengthen our collaborative relationships with academic and other allied institutions as well to enrich our own curriculum in candidate training and faculty development.
