Looking for a Study Group?
The Joint Seminar and Study Group Committee of The Michigan Psychoanalytic Institute Continuing Education Division and the Association for Psychoanalytic Thought offer the opportunity to form ongoing study groups around topics of common interest.
Who Can Participate? Any members of the psychoanalytically-informed community, including MPI, MPS, APT, MPF, Candidates, SATA, and Continuing Education Division participants (present and past), who are interested in meeting with a like-minded group of people to informally explore psychoanalytic principles and ideas in clinical work, the arts and humanities, as well as everyday life.
Study Groups may be peer-led around topics of common interest. As has been customary in the past, there is no fee for these peer-led groups. Other study groups may desire a facilitator from MPI (either an analyst or other professional in the field) to lead the group during its initial formation or on an ongoing basis. If the participants decide to use a facilitator for their study group, there will be a fee payable to MPI. Please note that CME/CE credits are not offered for study groups.
Current SATA students are welcome to join any of these study groups. Alternatively, SATA members may participate in study groups facilitated by analysts or advanced analysts in training. Contact Sue Cutler, Ph.D.
If you would like to connect with others seeking to form a study group, please contact one of the committee members below and let us know your interests.
