The Continuing Education Division of the Michigan Psychoanalytic Institute is pleased to offer the Child Development and Clinical Issues Program (CDCIP).   This new modular program was created to further the education and career development of local professionals who are interested in child/adolescent and family wellbeing, and who come from a wide range of professional backgrounds. The CDCIP is designed for psychotherapists interested in human development, child welfare workers, teachers, school counselors, pediatric caregivers (including pediatricians, nurses, hospital social workers and play specialists), law enforcement and probation workers, divorce and family court judges, legal specialists, and other professionals working with children and/or adolescents and their families.  Program participants will have the flexibility to individualize the timing of their participation, as well as their depth of involvement, ranging from taking one seminar, to enrollment in the full clinical psychotherapy program leading to a certificate of completion.

The CDCIP has 4 component modules which may be taken singly or in combination:

  • Selected Topics in Child and Adolescent Issues Seminars
  • Developmental Sequence
  • Key Readings in Child Development and Issues Study Sequence
  • Clinical Supervision Component

Program participants will take classes at both campuses of the Institute.
