Accreditation
The Michigan Psychoanalytic Institute was organized in 1957 as the Psychoanalytic Training Center of Detroit under the auspices of the New York Psychoanalytic Institute and granted recognition as a Provisional Training Center by the Board on Professional Standards in May 1958; and as a Provisional Institute in May 1962.
In May 1965, the Institute was granted recognition as a fully accredited Institute by the Board on Professional Standards of The American Psychoanalytic Association.
