The Michigan Psychoanalytic Foundation was established in June 1987 to provide financial support for the educational, clinical, and research programs of the Michigan Psychoanalytic Institute. As part of its mission, the Board supports outreach to increase community awareness and appreciation of psychoanalysis.

Prominent members of the business, professional, ethnic, religious, and labor communities serve three-year terms on the Board of Trustees. The Board has statewide representation and is working to extend the knowledge and presence of psychoanalysis throughout the state of Michigan.
