How You Can Help

The Michigan Psychoanalytic Institute is an IRS 501(c)(3) organization, and as such receives no government funding.  Our programs are funded through tuition, membership dues, and generous donations from supporters in the community who value the contributions psychoanalysis has made to the intellectual discourse and the application of psychoanalytic understanding to aspects of everyday life.

By making a donation to the Foundation, you help support us in making psychoanalytic ideas and understanding accessible to the interested public.  Your donation will help ensure that educators, scholars, students and others have access to thoughtful, reliable information on mental health issues.  Specific services your donation helps to provide are:

  • Low-fee or reduced-fee treatment for underprivileged children and adults (details)
  • Community outreach and service to underserved populations (details)
  • Education and training for Michigan mental health professionals (details)

Your donation is tax-deductible to the extent provided by law.  Donations of any amount are most welcome, and can be earmarked for any program area of particular interest to the donor.

The Foundation uses Paypal for secure online processing of donations.  Contributions may be made via bank account or major credit card.  There is no fee for using the service, and you do not need to open a Paypal account.  More information about their services, privacy policies and encryption technologies may be obtained from their Security Center.

Contributions can be made in honor of  specific people for their achievements or for special events in their lives.  Contributions can also be designated as in memoriam contributions.  All other contributions should be made to the general fund.
