The Institute is the major training center for students of psychoanalysis in the state of Michigan. The program consists of four years of theoretical and clinical seminars as well as supervised analytic cases. Graduates are involved in clinical work and teaching throughout the Detroit and Ann Arbor Metropolitan areas.

The Admissions Committee of the Michigan Psychoanalytic Institute accepts applications at any time.

We encourage and welcome interested and qualified professionals to apply for admission to full training in child and adult psychoanalysis. Our admissions criteria are in keeping with the standards for training established by the Board of Professional Standards of the American Psychoanalytic Association, of which the Michigan Psychoanalytic Institute is a fully accredited member.

The Admissions Committee welcomes applicants from all major mental health fields, including psychiatry, clinical psychology, and clinical social work.

Information about training requirements for each field can be obtained by contacting the admissions committee chairman.

A limited number of scholarships are available for this program.
