Unresolved Grief in a Traumatized and Suicidal Adolescent: Working with a 16 Year Old Girl

Dr. Pegeron will present the case of a 16 year old girl with a history of trauma, drug abuse and past suicide attempts who he saw in a residential treatment setting.  He will present three consecutive therapy sessions following a serious suicide attempt during which a working through of unresolved grief led to an unexpected revelation.
 
Dr. Pegeron is in private practice in Ann Arbor.  He is an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Michigan Medical School where he supervises in the Psychodynamic Psychotherapy Clinic. Dr. Pegeron is also a recipient of the Candidates' Award for Excellence in Teaching at MPI.  He has many clinical interests, among them: Shame; Psychotherapy and Medication; and the Supervisory Process.
