The course will involve the study of articles selected from current and recent issues of major psychoanalytic journals for the purpose of highlighting the most pressing and controversial issues being debated in the field. The instructors will select articles in an effort to capture a sampling of contemporary controversies in psychoanalysis and psychodynamic psychology.
After taking this course, participants will be able to:
- Identify key contemporary controversies in psychoanalysis
- Integrate various influential points of view in contemporary psychoanalysis
- Apply contemporary controversies to clinical and academic work
