32nd Annual MPF Benefit
Honoring Judge Steven Rhodes and Judge Gerald Rosen
Sunday, November 13, 2016
Judge Rhodes and Judge Rosen were instrumental in working out the settlement to get Detroit out of bankruptcy by approaching foundations, focusing on saving the Detroit Institute of Arts, and thereby "saving" Detroit.
Judge Rosen wrote the by now famous memo on a scribble pad: Pensions in one box, Art in another, and an arrow connecting the two. This depicted his early thinking about a way to solve Detroit's severe financial crisis (and the many lives that would have been adversely affected) if the settlement had not gone through.
We are delighted that the Judges have agreed to be honored by MPF and hope you will plan to join us for this interesting and festive event!
