Mission Statement

The Association for Psychoanalytic Thought, created for both mental health and other interested professionals, seeks to enrich our members’ professional and personal lives through exploration of psychoanalytic principles in clinical work, the arts and humanities, and everyday life.

In this pursuit, APT provides a stimulating environment that enhances our members' professional growth through career and training opportunities, study groups and educational programs.  APT provides a home for psychoanalytic psychotherapists and enthusiastically welcomes members from the scientific, scholarly, creative and general communities.
